Sharon had more challenges than most but rose to them all, determined to live a full and joyous life. She retired after 28 years of service to the Village of Niles.
Sharon enjoyed the garden, quizzing her family on plant names, and was enchanted by gazebos. She challenged loved ones to Scrabble games and won. She loved curating holiday and family dinners, creating priceless memories. Sharon loved God and made her faith an essential part of her life. Kind and observant, she always knew how to make someone feel special.
She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Frank Panek. She lives on in the memories of her mother, Froney Panek, her brothers and their wives Stanley and Rose Panek, Edward and Beverly Panek, her sister Lynn Ailant (Scott Fredrick), her aunts, and many cousins. She was the loving aunt of Michael Panek (Lynsey), Johnathan Ailant, Alina Panek, Tifani Panek, and the grandaunt to George Panek. Friend of many. We all love her dearly, now and forever.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Mass beginning at 12:00 PM, at St Mary's Catholic Church 794 Pearson St, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
