With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Rose Massano Ferina, who left us peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 87. Rose was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, beloved aunt, and treasured friend. She was known for her unwavering love, warmth, and nurturing spirit.
Rose dedicated her life to raising her family and creating a home filled with laughter, kindness, and unconditional love. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and cherished. Her strength and wisdom were guiding lights to all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
A woman of deep faith, Rose was an active member of St. Priscilla’s Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She had a lifelong passion for the arts and was a talented actress who studied at the Goodman Theatre. She performed in many plays and shows throughout her life.
Family was everything to Rose. Time spent with her children and grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. She especially loved sharing stories of her childhood growing up on Armitage Avenue, surrounded by her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Rose is survived by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Jack Ferina ("Cuzzy"); her son, Jason Ferina and his wife Rosalie; her daughter, Regan Maltese and her husband Daniel; her grandsons, Franco Maltese, Vincent Maltese and his wife Madeleine. She is preceded in death by her cherished grandson, Nicholas Deligianes.
Per Rose’s wishes, a Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Priscilla Church (6949 W. Addison St. Chicago, Illinois.)
We take comfort in knowing that Rose’s love will live on in our hearts, and her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
