Robert E Bauman

Long-time Chicago resident Robert E. Bauman died on 21 January 2016 at the age of 90 years. A native of Aurora, Illinois, and the son of Carl and Bessie Bauman, Robert served in the army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, Robert studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he excelled in interior design. After graduation, Robert won a number of design award competitions and worked for a prestigious Chicago interior design firm. From there Robert became a much-loved librarian at the Loyola School of Law, where he worked until retirement. An accomplished photographer and painter, Robert was a lover of cats and other animals and was passionate about music and theater, attending for many years the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as other of Chicago’s performing arts companies. Preceding Robert in death were his life partners E. Dean Tietz and Kenneth R. Krier and dear friends, and fellow world travelers, George C. Harkins and Bruce T. Klinefelter.
