I think of Robert so many times throughout the past year...he was a very great gift to all that had the pleasure of encountering him. I miss him.

It is hard to believe the year has passed and I just wanted to send along to RJ's family and Randy that we still think of him  and miss him!

I knew Robert so briefly and yet the talk of selling my home brought this fortuitous meeting.  He was delighted in my changing my life and going abroad to Paris for a few years. I'm am stunned and saddened by the news Robert passed.  We bought our 1 bedroom at the Buckingham from Robert in 1997, and he sold it for us in 2007.  Both experiences were excellent.  He was a kind happy soul and was a pleasure to see in and around the building.  He was our "go-to" realtor for our properties because he was honest and genuine.  And professional. I am so so so sad to hear of Robert's passing. Actually I am in shock. He helped us buy our home in Chicago. But more than that he has been a true friend. When our babies were born we jokingly started to call him The Godfather because he became more than a friend, more like an Big Brother, Uncle, bestie ... All in one.  He was supposed to come to our house for a listing appointment on the day he passed but a complicated photo shoot interfered. It was rescheduled for today. His assistant called to tell me the news.

Robert was my real estate agent and nobody understood like Robert what an emotional, often "blood, sweat and tears" experience it is to sell your family home and to find the perfect place.  He was there for me when I needed him most.  He made fun of all the unique ring tones on my phone for each of my friends. He also wanted his own ring tone.  I waited until I found the perfect tune: If he could call me today, it would still be, "You've Made me so very Happy", by Blood Sweat and Tears. This song will always be his.

I met Robert 24 years ago when I moved into 801 South Wells, where he was the leasing agent and a resident. Such a special man; professional, yet fun. I hadn't spoken to Robert for several years, but had kept in touch via Facebook. I will miss his posts. My condolences to Randy and the other members of Robert's family. May you take comfort in these messages - so many messages! - from people who loved and respected Robert and valued him both personally and professionally.

I met Robert through a mutual friend when my then partner and I were searching for our first place to buy. We, I think, like so many, fell in love with him and his abilitiy to be professional, funny, a businessman and friend all at once. 

He was our Realtor, but I emphasize again, he was also our friend -- even to the extent of helping me out by throwing some office work my way when I was needing to work. I'm so blessed to have known him and though I'd not seen him in some years, I've always known he was still my friend.
