Ricardo and I were friends  since 6th Grade and always remained close throughout our lives. I have too many fond memories to only share one or two. So from the bottom of my heart I'll mention Ricardo is consistently in my thoughts.  Many times while I'm driving I'll pass by a Restaurant or Bar that Ricardo and I had visited and it feels like he's right next to me. In simple terms, I believe it's Ricardo making his presence felt and it always brings me joy. I'll always remember Ricardo and the countless good times we shared together and with friends and family.  You are missed by friend,

In behalf of the Fernandez family from the Philippines I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of my tocayo Ricky whose journey in this life had come to an end. Luz and I have a standing invitation for him to take a vacation in the Philippines and we could play golf every day. He got well from his health issues but not good enough to be able to get on a long flight. I’m sad that we didn’t get that chance. He would have enjoyed golf in the Philippines. 

We were so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. Living in Arizona, we didn't get to see him as much as we would have liked. However, whenever he was here or when we visited family in Chicago, we always looked forward to his company. He was a happy, gregarious man who was passionate about friends and family. He made your conversation, as well as you, feel important and special for that moment in time. He will be missed. My (Diana) heart breaks for you Geri. And our thoughts are with you and your family at this very difficult time.

I remember many years ago. Rick gave me a ride to O'Hare Airport during a blizzard! Man that was so kind! As a young sailor going overseas for duty that was so helpful!  The Martinez family that I knew has suffered a great loss! 

It is believed that the best friends you will meet early in life. I met Rick in grammar school and became friends quickly. We were also neighbors and were both welcome in each other’s homes. It was a friendship that carried through adulthood. I could tell you stories about us that would make your head swim but I will keep them to myself and think of them when I’m feeling down. Rick was one of the strongest men I knew and I’m going to miss my dear friend. Rest In Peace Rick. I love you!

My first time of knowing you was thru email, you were such a great help for my surprise to your sister, kind to answer all my inquiries and follow up in preparation for the planned surprise to her, thank you for all of that. 
You have fought a good fight in this battle, and now its time to go back home to Our loving Creator. Rest in peace now sir.

I was lucky enough to have Rick bless my life in a number of ways. Rick was the Father in Law, I never knew I needed. He shared his wisdom and guidance with me on the trials of life and paths to success.  He accomplished more than anyone I know and I listened and internalized all he shared with me.  
The second way Rick blessed me as a father in law was raising and guiding my amazing wife, Shanta.  The impact and love he imprinted on her life has molded a tremendously loving, dedicated and driven woman.  He taught her to reach for every star and crash through each glass ceiling, which she continues to do every day.  
I was also blessed by Rick through the special connections I have made with all his children and his larger family that he invited me to be a part of.  Those memories I will always cherish.  Rick was truly an amazing man and he will be missed.


To Geri and children my heartfelt condolences. Big Rick will always hold a special place for my son and me as he helped find our office and our current headquarters. He was so kind and professional. 

Sometimes when people get successful they become arrogant and/or demanding Rick however, was always thoughtful and kind. I appreciated him coming by and having a coffee and having a little chit chat or him inviting me on Division to grab a coffee. Kindness was a cornerstone of his way.  May he RIP and I know he will be remembered as a “good man” and gentleman.

Ricky, you will truly be missed by everyone,  my little bro.  Truly a person that had so much gusto for life! I’ll never forget how you were always in good spirits whenever I saw you.  I loved your smile, generous heart and your compassion for those around you .  You were my family, and your family always made me feel like I was a part of yours.  Say hello to your  loving mom (she made the best Mexican food ever!) & give my Lord a big hug for me.  Love you my dearest friend and brother.

A trusted and loyal friend of 40 years duration you are the bedrock of all that is good and honorable in the world and will be greatly missed. Words can't express my true feelings for you and your girls and Ricks sons. However, here it goes.

I would like to share my thoughts and feelings towards Rick first.
He was a mans man. You may not understand this completely, but Rick lived his life that way. He was an awesome guy to be around and chat with, have a few beers, maybe a whiskey or two. He made you part of the conversation, never talking at you but with you. He told many of his various stories of life and had a gleam in his eye while speaking. Equally as important, he listened to my stories and joked and laughed together. I will always remember holidays and gatherings with him and the rest of the family. I will always remember the great deal of respect he gave my Mother and Father when they visited your home. It was as if his own Mother and Father had arrived. 

Fond memories on the golf course many times, and the trip to AZ.
Never forget sitting with him in my brother Tom's yard. He was so relaxed and comfortable that he let the beers grab him. He later opologized to no end, however as I explained to him back then..........its just family, we got each others back.

Now onto you and the kids!

He loved all of you very much, and often expressed this during our long talks. Geri, I believe he felt you made him complete and succesfull in life and work.
Shanta/Tasha-As good as he was for you, Rick really enjoyed his two girls. Now, I am sure at times it wasn't all roses and flowers. He did his tough guy thing to make sure you became the best person you could be. Well, I would say the proof is in the Pudding! 

Marcelo-Marcos.....These longs chats also included stories of the love he shared with you guys. He was one proud Pappa, and he lives within each one of you in many different ways. He spoke of getting tough on you guys also.
