Dear Ray so many years have flown by since your passing but your memory is so vivid in my heart and mind. I remember one summer we ran into each other and you walked me home. We stood in front of my building and talked for quite a while. We laughed and you had such an infectious smile. Always such a gentleman. Rest in peace my friend. Miss you. Miss you Ray. You made me laugh so much all the while you were suffering so much. You remained courageously upbeat while you were in so much pain. You were a powerful role model for me. And you were always so compassionate about my daughter Josie(1982-1993). God bless you. Love you forever.

It's a number of years since we lost dear Ray. But he's never far from my heart. I once ran into Ray at a movie theater years & years ago. We talked about the place we worked/volunteered at. He laughingly asked me never to write a book about The National Vietnam's Art Museum. I said I would never write a book about the place because no one would ever believe me anyway. We had a really good laugh about that. Ray was the best of the best America had to offer, a wonderful soldier & a great man.

Ray, it's almost 6 Years since you left us. I find myself missing you more as time goes by.  But don't worry I'm smiling just thinking about you.

I just found this and was saddened by the loss of Raymond.  I served with Raymond in Vietnam with Company C, 1st Battalion 69th Armor, 25th Infantry Division.  We shared some good times together and I have always remembered him.  Even though we lose contact with those that we shared so many memories with in Vietnam we never forget them.

Dad - Thank you for all your words of encouragement and strength. Somehow you always knew when I needed it the most.

When I think of my friend Ray. there are no words that fully capture who he's been to myself. Compassion, service, fighter and most of all thoughtful come to mind.  Now while my list might seem a bit short; let me assure you, it is BY NO MEANS LIMITED to those traits and qualities. I'm sure that many of you can think of something that you would've added...something that may have made you laugh or smile....something that made you think a little differently about things. I challenge you all to remember these things....the many things that made up the man that he was. I encourage you all to carry these POSITIVE things....Ray's LIGHT....carry Ray's light with you the same way that he was ALWAYS able to shine his light so brightly upon us. I am so happy that my friend...my brother was here to shine his light upon me over the past few years..

Hundreds of 25th Infantry Division Veterans have nothing but fond memories of Ray.  A good Soldier, solid friend and reliable source of boundless cheer.  The Seattle Reunion wasn't the same without you.  We will always remember you and hold  you dear in our hearts.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the Burns family. Ray was a great man, who's friendship, insight and wisdom I have and will always cherish. Ray and I could go months and sometimes years unfortunately, without talking but we could always count on a random phone call from each other where we would reminisce and talk for hours. I can't tell you how saddened I am today to have learned of his passing. Danielle and Joseph, may God grant you peace during this time of great loss. Rest in Peace, Ray. I love you, my brother.
