Deepest Sympathy to the whole family. I am so sorry I did not know sooner.

Day 120 
Some days I feel like I'm losing my mind or maybe it's already gone
 I know from your teachings of the word that GOD gives us no more than we can handle and sometimes I'm upset that you raised Shirley and I to be strong independent women because if you hadn't maybe he wouldn't have taken you yet. Today we spent the day with Aunt Gina and Aunt Georgette and I was a little hesitant at first because you were not with us. I had to be an ADULT and gave the situation but Mom I know you was smiling down on the unconditional love that was given to us and we were able to laugh and shed tears while talking about you.  I really hope you saw us today and was able to smile and laugh along with us . That contagious laugh will make anyone laugh and they not even know what they're laughing at lol.

I cant believe its been 3 months since you've been gone, it seems so much longer than that to me. I will forever be grateful for the loving Mom you were and on this eve of the first Thanksgiving without you I will get on my knees and ask God for strength and understanding of why you were taken. My love for you I can't put in words because there are not enough words to describe it. I will remember your contagious laugh, your beautiful smile, your undeniable love and support as well as your ruler, spoon and everything else you used to discipline us to keep us grounded. On this day Mom how do I be thankful when the most important personIin my life is no longer here with me? I will pray for your strenght and faith that you displayed til the very end. Others may have called you Paulette, Auntie Paulette or Ms. Horton. I was BLESSED to call you MOM and I will forever be grateful for that

Paulette was a special lady.  When I was growing up in the Henry Horner Homes, Paulette seems to always be around and was a great friend to my mom and family.  Me and my family will miss Paulette advice and loving smile.  I heard she fought to the end, but God got her.

Praying for the Horton Family, the Uptown Community, the McCutcheon School children, their families,and employees; former and new. All were impacted by this strong woman who championed them all in many ways.
So, how do I say goodbye (for now) to a sister/friend I have known for more than 30 years? With humble submission to the will of God!

Paulette and her family were my strongest supporters, and dearest friends. Her work at McCutcheon improved the lives of hundreds of children. She worked tirelessly for her community. Not just the school. Recent open heart surgery prevents me from attending the services, but my prayers will be for Paulette and her family now and always.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

A mother, friend and sister to all who crossed her path. Paulette Horton will always be embedded in mine and Immanuel heart. I will miss her dearly but rejoice in knowing that she is safe in our Heavenly Fathers arm. Love you Miss Horton, Donnice & Immanuel

Since the day I met you, there is not a day i can say i did'nt see you smile. My family will truly miss that smile and the comforting words and loving arm that greets us with a hug.
