She is the oldest of 9 siblings and took her role seriously. She always cared for her parents and siblings, even after she moved to the U.S. Her youngest sister Miriam remembers when Olga Maria bought them their first television set and kitchen appliances.
She always said her pride and joy was her two boys Roy and Mario. She spoiled them with love and devotion. She instilled in them good values and financial independence. She taught them to go and explore the world but stay safe. She was the matriarch of her family, opening her home to all her family creating a safe haven in times of hardship, offering happy hearts and full bellies. She was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband Mario Ariza of 36 years.
She was a devout Christian woman who always put her faith and hard work first. She loved old country music from Colombia. She was a humble and noble woman who loved gardening.
She touched many hearts in her 88 years of life. She will be loved and remembered in the hearts of those she leaves behind, to be reunited again soon as God calls them home one by one.
A visitation for Olga will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 North Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.
