Nancy C. Kaplan

Nancy C. Kaplan, wife of the late Walter L. Kaplan, past President and Vice Chairman of the Chicago-based hair care products company, Helene Curtis Industries, passed away in her home on February 15, 2012 at 76 years old. Nancy was an esteemed docent at the Terra Museum of American Art from 1994 to 2004. She was a member of the International Women Associates and a former President of the Near North Chapter of the Lyric Opera. Nancy graduated with a B.A. from Northwestern University in 1993 and received a Masters of Liberal Arts from Northwestern in 1997. She was a lifelong patron of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Goodman Theatre. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Barr, and her grandsons, Alex and Ian. Visitation Monday, Feb. 20th, 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago where a reception will immediately follow prior to interment at Rosehill Cemetery.
