Nancy Lee Brennan, 85 passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Raised in the charming city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she carried the warmth of Southern hospitality wherever she went. Nancy's journey began when she relocated to the bustling city of Chicago, where she met her now-husband, John Thomas Brennan, a connection that blossomed into a beautiful partnership. After spending some time in the Windy City, the couple decided to hit the reset button and moved to the quieter, charming town of Waverly, Tennessee. The serene landscapes and close-knit community gave them a fresh start and a chance to grow together. In 2014, seeking new adventures, they transitioned to Matteson, Illinois, where they finally settled down.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy filled with love, forever cherishing the memory of her beloved husband, John Thomas Brennan. Together, they navigated life's journey, creating a bond that was both deep and inspiring. As a devoted mother, she nurtured her children with unwavering support, instilling in them values of kindness and resilience. Her warmth extended to her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, where her laughter filled family gatherings and her stories wove a tapestry of cherished memories.
Nancy was not only a loving family member but also a passionate member of her church community. Her faith was central to her life, and she actively engaged in church activities. She found solace in reading her Bible, often sharing verses that inspired her with her family and friends. In addition to her devotion, Nancy had a successful career in the food industry, where she proudly rose to the position of manager at Arby's before retiring. Not one to shy away from her passions, she also loved playing the piano.
The family will be having a Visitation on Thursday, April 10th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm located at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road in Chicago. The family will be having a private Interment.
