Michael Williamson

Michael Williamson, age 77, of Chicago IL, Vietnam-era Navy Veteran, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Beloved life partner of Dawn Smith; dearest father of Michael Williamson Jr.; fond grandfather of Joseph; caring brother of the late Charles Williamson and Kenneth Williamson. Also preceded in death by his parents Charles Albert Williamson and Minnie (Newell) Williamson.

Michael was a true Gemini; at times a bit of a curmudgeon; but, truly just the opposite. He was loving and giving and kind, with a gentle spirit and cherished flashes of innocent joy. He was proud of his service in the Navy, serving on the USS Hornet. Michael was an avid reader all his life and enjoyed a brisk conversation on almost any topic. He was interested in all music but most favored jazz and Motown.

Michael lived gently on this planet and appreciated the simple yet wonderful things it offered; the stars, Autumn leaves on the ground, a mushroom growing on a tree, a lightning bug in the evening, a rabbit hiding in the bushes, a cardinal landing on the balcony, all captured his attention. May his pure spirit be forever...
