Marianne R Smith

Marianne R Smith, 75, passed away suddenly surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife to the late David for 50 years; cherished mother of Jennifer (Joseph) Martinez; treasured grandmother of Ryan, Natalie and Aubrey; beloved sister of William (Marlys) McKee, Cecile (Robert) Beskow, the late Robert McKee, Margaret Gerzon, and James (Marge) McKee; beloved daughter of the late James and the late Rita; fond sister in law and aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a friend to many.

Marianne was born in Chicago, Illinois. She gave her life to her only child Jen and three beautiful grandchildren. She wanted nothing but happiness for her family. Her loyalty was unmatched- she was their constant. She was known for her selflessness, always worried about others before herself. She was full of energy, spending every moment making memories with her family. Although she lived her life with caution, she was known to have fun. She was an expert in the kitchen, she was the teammate you wanted for game night, and she was the biggest fan you needed on the sidelines. Marianne was not seen without wearing a “Crazy for Natalie” shirt in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; in which memorial contributions can be made in her honor.

Visitation is on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at Ridge Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6620 W. Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638, Prayers to follow.
