It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Fragnoli, an amazing and loving wife, sister, mother and MiMi. She taught us more than she will ever know – how to love, learn, forgive, and feel blessed. Her laughter and smile will live in our hearts forever. Margaret passed away on April 16, 2020 in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 68.
Margaret was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Gill and Angela Wozniak. Margaret had many notable accomplishments. Growing up, she was in the National Honor Society at Kennedy HS in Chicago, IL, playing piano and flute for numerous years. She graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and eventually moved to Naperville, IL with her family where she was a freelance writer for the local newspaper, the Naperville Sun. Years later, she was a Stewart at the London Shakespeare Theatre where she completed 285 London walking guides and traveled extensively to many cities throughout Europe.
Wherever she lived, Margaret was involved in the local community, as well as many organizations and clubs, including a literacy program based in Naperville, IL, the American Women’s Club in London, England and the Literacy Volunteers of Western New York. Upon moving to Fort Myers, FL in 2011, she became involved in the Plantation Somerset Book Club in Fort Myers while also volunteering at the St. John XXIII Thrift Store in Fort Myers. Margaret was an avid book reader and writer, and loved to garden, go to the beach, and travel.
Margaret is survived by her husband Guy Fragnoli of Fort Myers, Florida; Michelle Klein, daughter; Seth Klein, son-in-law; Aidan and Sydney Klein, grandchildren of Naperville, Illinois; Dana Fragnoli-Piteo, daughter; Nicholas Piteo, son-in-law; Talan and Genoa Piteo, grandchildren of Arlington, Virginia; Brian Fragnoli, son of Fairport, New York; Joseph Gill, brother; Evie Gill, sister-in-law of Paris, Illinois; Karen Iwanowski, sister; Mark Iwanowski, brother-in-law of LaGrange, Illinois; Vicki Gill, sister of Fox Lake, Illinois; Terry Gill, sister; Markham Kinter of Seattle, Washington; Nadine Orkild, sister; Bill Orkild, brother-in-law; Ben and Audrey, nephew and niece of Spring Grove, Illinois; Leigh Fragnoli, brother-in-law; Sarah Fragnoli, sister-in-law of Woodstock Georgia; Dawn and Chaz Fragnoli, niece and nephew; Kim Cox, sister-in-law; Charles Cox, brother-in-law of Pinellas Park, Florida and Joy Cagle, sister-in-law; Dale Freant of St. Petersburg, Florida. Margaret had all together a total of 4 grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.
