Manuel was a salesperson in Cuba, inheriting his father’s sales position. When he arrived in Chicago, he began working for Goya Foods as a salesperson, eventually becoming head of sales. In 1982, Manuel opened his own business named El Faro Foods and worked until he retired at the age of 62. Manuel enjoyed long conversations about business and politics. He was actively involved within the Cuban community. Manuel followed a faithful religious life becoming an active parishioner of St. Ita Church here in Chicago. He also enjoyed reading, mostly politics. Throughout his life Manuel demonstrated a good sense of humor. He loved to tell jokes and made everyone laugh. Manuel loved spending time with his wife, Delia, visiting friends and traveling. He enjoyed the company of his daughter, Delita, son in law, Cesar, and grandchildren Isabel, Leonardo, Alejandro, and Larissa. He adored Paddy, his daughter’s dog. Manuel was an extraordinary husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Delia M. Gonzalez, his loving daughter Delia (Cesar) Adrianzen, his adoring grandchildren Isabel, Leonardo, Alejandro, and Larissa, and many extended family and friends.
