Malcolm married his loving wife Christine (Tina) on July 20th, 1974. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer.
Malcolm retired as a Chicago Police Officer, celebrating a remarkable and groundbreaking career as the first Chinese American Chicago police officer to retire with a full career after nearly 30 years of service. He was also a founding member of the national organization Asian American Law Enforcement Association (AALEA) and a board member of the Chinese American Museum of Chicago. Outside of his accomplishments in law enforcement, Malcolm had a passion for family, especially for his grandchildren. Additionally he loved music, napping, cars, and spending time in Las Vegas.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Anita. He is survived by his wife Tina, children Melissa (Ricardo) and son Bradley, grandchildren Naima and Izel, and siblings, Greg, Sharon, and Roland.
Funeral arrangements will be at Malec Funeral Home from 2-8 pm on Wednesday July 17th with service starting at 6:30 pm.
