Sorry I am not there to give you a hug you in person.  Laura was a loving, caring and beautiful person. She was a great sister-in-law,  friend and comadre. She's in heaven now enjoying GOD'S HOLY presence. I thank GOD for giving us Laura in our lives. She'll be greatly missed. You and your family are in our prayers. My heart goes out to all of Laura’s family at this time of grieving her loss and remembering the wonderful person she was. You have been fortunate to have the most loving and dedicated mother, wife, relative, and friend, a person could desire. 
Laura’s laughter and good heart made her a person you were always glad to see. All the years we worked together at Audubon she was a joy to be with.  She was a friend, a hard working companion and a source of comfort when needed. 
I remember most her endless pride in and devotion to her family. I was fortunate to be Danny’s teacher when he was little and have seen him grow into an accomplished young man, as has Alex, both of whom  adored  their mom as she did them. The care she gave her beloved mother Carmen was given wholeheartedly and with all her love.  She loved her husband and children and lived her family life to the fullest. That truly is a life well lived. We will all miss her smile and warmth. Rest in piece amiga. 

I cannot think of a better word to describe my madrina Laura than “generous”. Before she had any children, she treated me and my sisters as if we were her own. There were birthdays and visits where she would shower us with gifts, always being overly generous - which was her nature. We would get so excited when she’d come up to our bedroom at night and tickle us and tuck us into bed.

I recall visiting her and thinking she was the “cool tia that lived in downtown Chicago” and we’d play with her three dogs and marvel at her many, giant goldfish. She was always such a lover of animals.

I was blessed to have her at my wedding. I’ll always remember how much fun we had when you arrived with my padrino, already popping bottles of Champaign ready to celebrate.

My madrina was so special. She was always the life of the party. Loud, fun and always dancing. She spoke her mind and was true to herself. I’ll always admire that about her.

I’m extremely grateful to have seen her one last time a few weeks before her passing. Madrina, my last precious memory of you will always be when you put your hands on my belly to say hello to my future son. I’m sad that you won’t have the chance to meet him, but I know you’ll be watching us from up above and will always be with us in spirit. I love you so much and I’ll miss you. Rest in peace.

We never know how precious our time is with the person we love until that person is no longer with us, and so we understand that without her life isn’t going to be the same. 

We are going to miss you very much, but we know that you are no longer suffering any more. I hope my sister feels at peace just like she always made me feel.

I will always cherish those memories close to my heart of family trips to Mexico, family dinners at Ronnie’s, and how you always were the first person to help. 

Thank you for everyone’s support in this moment of pain. Our family thanks everyone for sending my sister with God, Mami and Papi!

Daniel, Alex, and Danny and all who loved Laura...my early years of teaching were made so much sweeter because of your family. Teaching the Del Real brothers and having Laura's warm and loving smile  greet me in the copy room made every day better. My deepest condolences to the family of my dear great friend Laura.
I had the honor to mmet Laura at St. Joseph Village of Chicago where daily 2 or 3 times a day she would visit her beloved mother Carme Cato another Angel I had the honor to meet as well ,I remember Laura as a beautiful soul , Caring,Loving and always with a big smile on her face. We became support friends as we both had been strogoling with health issues, she constanly check on me via text to make sure I was ok and I would do the same ,this last week I didnt receive any reply from her my heart felt heavy,until today 4/28/23 when I found out the reason of why you were not replaying text messages , fly high my love now your  mom will take care of you as you did for her here on earth ,you will forever be miss thank you so much for your beautiful friendship and for always having kind words to say, I'M sure we will meet again amiga but for now enjoy paradise pain free you are a CHAMPION  and a beautiful Angel . 

Dear Laura:
I write with a heavy heart but I must say you were a wonderful sister and a great daughter that always respected our parents. You were always there when they needed you, all the way to the very end. You were a faithful and loving wife and caring mother. I have so many good memories. As I told you many times, I would have preferred to be sick and not you. You were always there in my down times and you were the first one there to celebrate my great times. With our last conversation, we both left each other in peace. I hope you find yourself surrounded by angels and mommy and papi. You had a big caring heart and never worried about other people’s business, just went on and lived your life. Don’t you worry, in my eyes you did everything right. You were always papi’s pride and joy, rightfully so. I am also proud to say we always respected each other, loved each other’s family, like our parents always wanted. That is the way they raised us. Your heart was so big and caring. I still remember you raising ally cats and all your dogs. You have left those behind with a broken heart. I am happy that you met and loved Rosie and always told me she was God Sent. On behalf of Rosie and myself, we hope and pray your next life is greater than the one you left behind. Love you always, you will always be in our prayers. Hate to say goodbye but I must let you rest in peace.
