Joseph R. DeVitto, age 53, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Loving and cherished husband of Maribell. Devoted son of Diane (the late Ronald) DeVitto, best buddy of Jake, brother of Michael (Donna), Linda (John) McVady, Ron (Lisa), and Jim (Kim). Dear Godfather to Randall, Stephanie, Oriella, and Ashley. Dear uncle to Allison, Alec, Austin, the late Matthew, Timothy, Grace, Rocco, Vinny, Olivia, Anthony, Arthur, Andrew, Jacob, Mia, and Domanic. Cherished brother-in-law of Gloria (Mario), Beto, Jimmy (Tara), and Michael. Nephew to James (Margaret) Kostka and Lois Kressy. Cousin to Mégan (Brian) Wagner, Kathleen (Dave) Kane and numerous other cousins. Son-in-law to Gloria Abeja. Joseph will be remembered by family and friends for his passion for drumming and heavy metal music, his love of God and country and for being a great friend. Joe we love you and will miss you dearly.
A visitation will be on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridge Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager) 6620 West Archer Ave., Chicago, IL 60638. On Friday, January 29th a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Daniel The Prophet Church, 5300 S. Natoma Ave. Chicago, Illinois 60638 at 10:00 AM. A committal service will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Ave., Justice, IL 60458.
