At his request, services will be delayed until later in the year.
Jack was born June 15, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to Patrick Tuohy and Catherine (Kane) Tuohy. His fondest memories included the stories his father shared about being chief of police in Chicago. Jack could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. As a young teenager, he was able to bring strength and skill to building and remodeling homes. He enjoyed playing sports and performed in theater. And appeared as a clothing model in Sears’ catalogs, many newspapers, and on billboards.
Jack attended Saint Ignatius HS and then graduated from John Carroll University where he was elected president of the Chicago Club. He served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. He will receive full military honors with taps and flag folding when his ashes are interred at Queen of Heaven cemetery.
He worked many years in the hydraulics business for Parker Hannifin Corp. as their engineer and installation specialist. He is survived by his brother Tom “Bud”. Also by his wife of 26 years, Martha. And his children: Daniel, Timothy, Barbara, John, and Patrick from his first marriage with Joan (deceased). His adored grandchildren are: Sam Kay, Amy Kay, Jake Tuohy, Tom Tuohy, Elizabeth Tuohy, and Grace Tuohy.
In the words of his dear brother Bud, we “celebrate his life in that he was a good and honest man”.
