
Joanna Bruno, 89, of Rolling Meadows passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Chicago. She was born on Thursday November 4, 1926, in Marion, IL to John and Catherine Calderaro. She married Frank Bruno in 1947 who passed away in1981. Joanna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very devoted to her family and to her faith. She loved cooking for her family, and always made sure no one left the table with an empty stomach. She was strong-willed and had a unique sense of humor. Most of all, she wanted to make sure everyone was happy, and always said "God Bless Everybody" at the end of her prayers every night. Joanna is survived by her children Kathleen (Robert) Curtis of Chicago and Frank Bruno of Rolling Meadows; granddaughter Kate (Scott) Ramsey of Los Alamos, NM; great-granddaughter Renee Ramsey of Los Alamos, NM; and sister Rosemary Canning of Chicago; and many cherished relatives and friends. Joanna was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, her grandson Robert Curtis of Chicago, and her siblings James Calderaro, Dominic Calderaro, Sam Calderaro, Josephine O'Brien, Annie Butzen, and Petra O'Brien. Visitation will be held Wednesday at 9:30am until 1pm at The Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL where services will be held at 1:00pm.
