After graduating from Luther North High School and earning her nursing degree, Janet embarked upon a long career at the University of Illinois Hospitals. She worked in the oncology, mother-and-baby, and IV-support departments.

Beloved mother of Anthony Francis (partner Jen) Gutierrez and Jessica Elizabeth Gutierrez; devoted Godmother of Imani.

Cherished daughter of parents David (Vera) Gutierrez and Juanita Esther Gutierrez (nee Bautista).

Dear sister of Nadine “Dina” (David) Dunagan, David (Nicole) Gutierrez, Christina (partner Angel Santiago) Gutierrez, Alex (Pearl) Gutierrez, D'Angelo Gutierrez, and others.

Caring aunt of Sean, Alicia, Brendan, Leah, Joseph, Alex Jr., Sergio, Selena, Julian, Jacob, Angelo, Alexis, Mercedes, and forever in our hearts, Angel.

Preceded in death by husband, Christopher Schneider; and then later partner Sean McCarthy;
