James C. Urban

James C. Urban, 84 of Chicago, IL passed away June 10, 2022. He was a loving husband of 63 years to Barbara, née Dedic; beloved father of Donna Urban, Debbie (Bob) Segiet, and Jimmy (Stephanie) Urban; cherished grandfather of Scott (Andrea) Urban, Michael Urban, and Zachary Urban; loving great-grandfather of Alexandra Urban, and Emily Urban; adoring brother of Susan (Shannon) Urban, Kathy (Larry, uncle “Slug”) Lejeune, Richard (Donna) Urban, the late Charles “Chuck” Urban, and the late William “Bill” Urban. James graduated from Tilden High school and was in the US Marine Reserves.

He worked at Continental Can and Madison Equipment and went on to develop his own packing company Urbanco, Inc. In January 2005 he was presented with a United States Ceremonial Flag dedicated during a special ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda commissioned by President Ronald Reagan and received a request to attend and participate in the inauguration of President George W. Bush, which he was so proud to attend. James loved fishing and he will be best remembered for loving his family and talking sports with his daughter Donna; he also enjoyed hanging with his friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ridge Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6620 W. Archer Ave., Chicago, IL. Funeral will be on Friday, June 17, 2022, beginning with prayers at 9:15 am at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 W. Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. at St. Faustian Kowalska Church, 5252 S. Austin Ave. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Rd., Justice, IL 60458.
