On Dec. 22, 2017 my dear Herman L. Johnson passed away.  I got to hold your hand for that one last time as you were transitioning back to the Lord.  Just like you entered into the world as a babe, peaceful and without a care, that's exactly how you left.  You were definitely a great foot soldier for the Lord, you led so  many people to Christ.  Man, you were always there for me too, you had my back.  You always gave what you had, advice, love, support and mentoring.  You were loved by many, and will be missed by many more for an eternity.  Funny, oh you were so funny.  Your favorite saying, "I'll believe it when I see it".  You uplifted my family when we needed you the most, and if I never told you so, I love you and I will always miss you a  lot.  Lord, take care of my Daddy, and thank you Jesus.  I will be waiting to see you again in the Rapture.  Amen

To My Beloved Grandfather,

Thank you for being a God fearing man who loved his family unconditionally. Job well done in your life's journey, which consists of being a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. The day you made your earthly transition, I believed you received your wings, so spread your wings and soar like never before.

Thank you for loving, caring , molding, guiding and being a wonderful Grandfather & Father figure in my life. There aren't enough words in the English language to express my gratefulness to you for your influence in my life. 

You will truly be missed, so Rest in Eternal Heavenly Peace Granddaddy!

I love and miss you. Remembering the time I would leave you notes for new shoes and you always provided. You were the greatest dad ever. Love you always and forever.

I will never forget the time you came to visit me and I offered you a glass of tea, and it was not as sweet as you liked it.So you wanted to know if I had run out of sugar as to why it was not very sweet. We had a good laugh about that. 
And until the day you went home to be with Mama and Daddy and the rest of our brothers and sisters,I was never Merle to you, I was Sissy, your baby sister. I cherish the memories of the past Brother.You are forever in my heart and never forgotten.
