Helen T. Piotrowski-Stein, age 81 of Las Vegas, NV passed away quietly in her sleep after a long illness with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease on Thursday, January 21, 2016. She was born March 18, 1934 in Lisewo, Poland the daughter of Stanislow and Jozefa Domse. Helen was a retired homemaker. Previously she made her home in the Chicago area. She was a fabulous cook, baker, and loved to sew, cross stitch, and knit. She was fond of singing and dancing and enjoyed life with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Stefan J. Piotrowski (1982), her oldest brother Edward Domse, and her older sister Sophie Garnicki. She is survived by her second husband, Leonard Stein; her two sisters Gertrude Lisowski and Ester Kozakow; her children, Zenon Piotrowski and Lillian Caravello; her daughter-in-law, Donna (Hagemaster) Piotrowski; and her grandchildren, Stefan and John Piotrowski and Christina and Angela Caravello; and her grand daughters-in-law, Dr. Laura (Niiro) Piotrowski and Michelle (Sterrett) Piotrowski.
Visitation Friday 3-8 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago. Prayers Saturday 10:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Pascal Parish, 3935 N Melvina Ave, Chicago. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
