Gwen Edwin Epling

Gwen Edwin Epling, United States Air Force Veteran, passed away on Saturday, January 27th, 2024. Gwen was born on November 28, 1943 to his parents Geraldine and James Epling Jr. in Pikeville, Kentucky. Loving father of Donna, Eddie, Kevin, David and the late Lucas; proud grandfather of Dylan, Kevin Jr, David Jr, Derik, Patrick, Louie, Anisa, Tricia, Elizabeth and Camden and great-grandfather of Santiago and Lianette. Dear brother of Terry, Emmalou, Lana, Grey, LaurieMae and the late Clyde and Richard and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

His kids and family were the most important in his life. He touched many lives with his character, and was loved beyond words. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He loved bragging about starting the Chicago Epling Family Branch. He knew he was everyone's favorite HILLBILLY. He was the most caring and big hearted man in our lives. He will be truly and deeply missed by his family and friends.

Friends and family will gather for a memorial service for Gwen on Friday, February 9th, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM., at Ridge Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6620 West Archer Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60638, with a chapel service at 5:30 PM, Pastor Chris will be officiating, and Military honors at 6:30 PM.
