He was well loved and we are grateful to have had him in our lives. He is survived by his wife Hedy and children, Gabriella, Kate (Jimmie Jones) and Peter, his sister Elizabeth Denk and grand-daughter Madelyn Jones.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 12th from 12noon - 3pm followed by a Memorial Service at 3pm at Malec & Son Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago. Born in Vienna, Gerhard moved to Chicago in 1964 ….and promptly fell in love with the USA and Hedy. He was the owner and Master Chef of Vienna Pastry Shop in Chicago for 40 years, President of the Austrian American Council for 10 years. He loved to dance, and loved being part of a large joyful family. He championed that which he was passionate about and brought happiness to many.

He will be remembered. He will be missed.
