Eva Kassab passed away peacefully on October 25 at the age of 86 years. Born in the old city of Damascus, Eva is survived by her children, Karam (Sandra) and May, her beloved grandchildren Coco and Théo, and many nieces and nephews. Eva went to school at École Besançon and Al Azaria before becoming a teacher. She is best remembered for her warmth, generosity, and great sense of humor that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Eva was also known for her culinary skills. She loved to cook up feasts that brought the whole family together. From holiday dinners to casual get-togethers, her recipes were filled with the secret ingredient of love. Her meals were more than just food; they were a testament to her warmth and her desire to create lasting moments with the people she loved.
She loved her family but perhaps her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. Coco and Théo were the pride and joy of her life, and she showered them with love, support, and encouragement. She was their biggest cheerleader, always beaming with pride at their accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Her patience, wisdom, and stories enriched their lives and her memory will continue to guide them through their journeys.
Eva leaves behind a legacy of love and incredible resilience. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, in every family recipe shared, every journey taken, and every embrace shared with her grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on October 30 at Ridgewood Memorial Park, where we will gather to honor her incredible life and the countless ways, she enriched ours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to UNICEF in her memory, to continue her legacy of compassion and love for children. (unicefusa.org)
