Diane Louise Roginski (Kath), 85, of Chicago passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her five children. She was born July 18, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Jean (Novak) Kath. Diane married the love of her life, Richard Roginski in 1974 and together, they created a large, extended family through whom their memories will live on.
Diane was a compassionate and affectionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and friend to many. She devoted her life to caring for her family and bringing them together for holidays and other celebrations. Her home was akin to a warm hug, welcoming and calming, the place people wanted to be. It is where she hosted Christmas and Easter every year, serving family favorites like Polish sausage, kugel, “Chicago pancakes,” rice pudding, kolacky and cheesecake. She never missed a family member’s birthday, sending a card to remind you of her love, and never shied away from an adventure.
Diane will be remembered for her creative, generous and free spirit and for her unwavering love for her family. Her heart, always open. Her kindness, extended to everyone she met. In her final weeks, she remained the stoic and steadfast matriarch her family always looked to her as and expressed gratitude for a life well-lived.
