I don’t like to imagine the sorrow you feel on the anniversary of Dan’s passing, and hope that you are able to enjoy the many lights of laughter and love that Dan left in the world.  I remember his beautiful smile and impish jokes he played on us in the office.  Dan was a great leader and friend.

When Dan first joined our Tech & Services Group at BMO he was just a kid, and the "kids" were typically seen, but rarely heard by the more senior people in the group.  This would have been especially expected of Dan since he was one of only two  people in our  group to be based  in the Chicago office--so also, "out of sight".  But, of course, as anyone knowing Dan for only a few minutes would guess, this was not the case for this "kid".  Dan's larger-than-life personality, willingness to put himself out there, and overall goodwill made him a standout among  his peers.  He generated so much affection for and from his colleagues!  He lives on in those of us privileged to have worked with Dan in our recollections of his enormous presence.

I met Dan through Raphael. They were neighbors and good friends. I remember the very first time I met Dan, I was about to leave Raphael's apartment and he showed up. From the first minutes, he started making fun of the layers of clothes  I was wearing and at some point, he looked at me and asked me to wait. He ran downstairs to bring his shoes and we took this picture. The few other times we met, he was always happy and bubbly. I would open the door of Raphael's and Dan is standing there with a big giant smile. What a  great loss for the world....Rest in peace big boy!

Dan Price-Dan Price.  You were one of my first new friends in the city 15 years ago bringing such great energy to our training class and always made this small town girl feel right at home.  I am grateful to have been included in your “mixxas” bringing diverse groups of people together for the best conversation/nights, and will never forget your steadfast encouragement through all of my phases of life, including as a new mother.  Your energy was rare and infectious - and your legacy will live on through everyone who was fortunate enough to know you, that couldn’t have been more listening to everyone speak to the impact you had on them the past week.

I met Dan when I joined BMO in 2007.  He immediately embraced me and brought me into the BMO family. From late nights at the office, to lunch breaks in Chase Plaza, to late nights at the clubs, Dan made everyone smile. I'm thinking back fondly of the fun times that we had together.  Dan organized one of his mixas at BYOB sushi restaurant Butterfly, and I never laughed so hard in my life as I did over that meal. Dan came to a Thanksgiving party at my condo when my 70-year-old physicist/banker Sri Lankan father was visiting from California. Dan and my dad talked in the kitchen for hours, even after the others had left, and became email pen-pals for years to follow.  The picture I'm including is from a day when a group of us went sailing on Lake Michigan. We were hyped up to have an amazing day on the water - it turned out that every person threw up over the side of the boat except Dan and me. We had a glorious time but our friends... not so much. I was hoping to create many more memories with DanPriceDanPrice in the future. His charisma will be missed. 

Dan, 

Your smile, laugh and overall personality were so contagious. You brought all different walks of us together with your dynamic personality, love for life, and incredible humor. You were a mentor at work, but more importantly an amazing friend and someone with whom I couldn’t wait to catch up (and laugh alongside with) again. Will miss you a bunch. 

I was Kent Warren's roommate at Penn from 2000-2004 and so got to know Dan a bit through Kent when he'd visit Philly during those years. More recently, I got to know him more on annual ski trips with a large group friends. He and I drove together from Vail to Denver 3-ish years ago, and I learned a lot more about him on that 3-hour trip -- he wasn't just funny, but insightful, thoughtful, considerate. I've talked to him on an off since then about business, Chicago, and cannot believe he's no longer with us. I've never met the rest of the Price family but want you to know that I'm thinking about Dan, and his family.

Dan, you're always going to be a shining spirit, here and forever.  Coming to Chicago always had an extra kick to it when Dan Price was in the area. Those that know you have felt the positive energy that you exude. I can't recall a time where I wasn't anxious for the next Dan Price delivery. Having said that, it was always positive, and at a minimum, had you dying laughing, or being truly inspired by your wisdom. 

You'd always highlight others accomplishments,  attributes,  qualities,  whilst keeping a humble, but confident personality.  I'll always appreciate and honor the memories.  Being able to understand that these memories won't continue is difficult to swallow, but I feel...I know that your impact to all of us is felt and appreciated.  

You will be missed greatly Dan P.

You are truly a legend. Thank you so much for your energy. I know you will be the brightest Star out there 🌌. I am crying and laughing at the same time thinking of you. Thank you for being the crunchiest Friend anyone could ask For. Thank you for being  you. Thank you for those  unforgettable memories and 11 years of friendship. I am so grateful my path crossed  with yours in this life. 
You gave so much of your energy to anyone around you in its purest form.  You gave us something that is hard to find.

I met Dan through Chris and immediately took note to the big personality he had. It was evident he was unapologetically himself...I liked how he was super bold. From his rebellion against pants to his love for his friends and hometown  (which was nothing like shameless), Dan made an impact on me that I won’t forget. RIP Dan...stay cool 🙏🏾❤️

I’ll never forget the trip to Panama and how you enlightened those on “La Isla.” You were truly one of a kind and a good friend. You will be missed Dan...

Dan, i’ll never forget the first day i met you. God blessed us both with Rose and words can’t describe our bonds. You’re a beautiful human being and a beautiful soul. Thank you for another set of eyes on life when some of us may have had our blinders on. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being great Dan, you’ll truly be missed.

Not surprising to anyone that came in the smallest amount of contact with Dan, he was a force of nature in the office—bringing his many talents to the work at hand, but also bringing much needed perspective and humor, lightening the mood when long hours were needed to get the work completed.  You inspired us to see that there is life outside of work, and the joy you left in your wake after a visit or phone call uplifted the rest of the day. Your friendship, empathy and overall goodness will be missed and remembered by all that knew you, Dan.

I can’t believe I’m typing this but here goes nothing.  When you stepped of the plane in the Dominican you said, “You already know it’s going to be a party.” It was definitely a blast. From our 3am philosophical views on peacocks and cows to our rooftop dance moves. You made that trip and everyday after extremely memorable. You’re spirit is one of a kind sir. We love you DP! “We all have stories.”

Dude, I can’t even believe I’m writing this to you. Just a few weeks ago you did your usual check ins on me and the family....

But thank you. Thank you for taking us in like your family. I must say, it was  an instantaneous friendship  (meeting thru Carol and let’s not forget that Sterling and I legitimately found out we were pregnant staying at your place in NY. Lol!) that turned out to be one of the most genuine friendships I have ever had! I will miss the random check ins starting  with random questions and rebuttals! And oh yeah, you gave our daughter her second nickname, “Baby Sterling”

One more thing because you always do ask, I will always make sure I take care of your sister, Carol. I got you and I got her. 👍🏼

I love you and will always have you in our hearts!
