I my mind, now, I keep saying, "Hold my hand Connor." It was my job to protect you.  I was your PreK Teacher Assistant in Miss Davis' classroom at Algonquin Primary. I will always remember your cute little face, big smile and heart. I will cherish my memories of you, and being a part of your life! Thank you, my sweet little Angel.


We did not know Connor personally, but grieve his loss as Park Forest residents . After looking at the photos, we can see that he was 
much loved and left us too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all who loved him.

Or  should I say My School Connor as I used to call you since you shared the same name as my son. It was a pleasure having you in my pre-k class. You were always smiling, ready to participate or lend a helping hand. I will always remember how much you loved dinosaurs and how you would make your arms short and roar like a T-Rex. I couldn’t help but smile and laugh every single time!  I am grateful to have this memory and  a ton of other memories together In room 12 at Algonquin. RIP My School Connor ❤️

This was the day of the tower building competition. You were always smiling. I’m so thankful for my time with you. You were always a star. Keep shining Connor!

Is that Flash? No, that’s Connor! Mohawk’s own superhero! At the beginning of the year, we had a celebration for students that completed their summer packet. They were able to enjoy a movie, with popcorn, and a drink. Connor enjoyed the movie with friends! 

During STEAM, the kids were going to compete in groups to build the tallest towers. I let the kids pick their groups and they weren’t even, so we had to make adjustments to be fair. There was a group with 3 ladies and a group of 6 students. I asked if anyone from the larger group would move to work with the girls, and Connor’s hand shot straight up! He would work with anyone, it’s just the kind of guy he was. Connor always gave me compliments telling me how pretty I was, how he loved my hair curly more than straight, how he liked when I dyed it different colors, and he even noticed when I was wearing makeup. A few weeks after this picture, I came in looking a little rough. It was the day that he was recognized as Student of the Month. He came in and told me how pretty I looked and that he loved my curls. Now this is only second grade, so when anything is ever mentioned about boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, or husbands most of the kids say, “eww gross!” On that day, I told Connor how he was going to make his wife so happy someday! He just laughed at me and kept it moving. He was good to people and because of that everyone was drawn to him. You could tell he was raised by some amazing parents! 

Connor was our classes’ Student of the Month for December. He was one of the most responsible, respectful, smart, and funny students I’ve ever met. I am going to miss seeing that big smile in the classroom everyday. We have been talking about you all week and your friends have shared some amazing things about how you made them feel. You were everyone’s friend. You never let anyone feel left out. We miss your jokes, your laugh, your smile, your kindness, and most of all you. 💔 You’re my forever student! I couldn’t be more proud of you! Sending all my love and hugs to you!!!

My sweet Connor, oh how you are so missed. I have truly enjoyed every moment of 2nd Grade with you! I remember the first day you came into the classroom with that big smile on your face. You just lit up the room! We started cracking jokes, you chose the closest seat to me, and the rest was history. You caught jokes that went over heads. You made me smile when you thought I was feeling frustrated or sad. I’m not sure you could ever understand how much I truly enjoyed your company and how my world was a better place because you were in it. You were a positive vibes only kind of guy. You were everyone’s friend. You spoke up for people when needed. You never let anyone feel left out. Everyone in class misses you too! Please watch over your friends. I’m so blessed to have had you in my classroom. It won’t be the same without you.
I pray that your parents and family find peace in knowing that you affected so many people in such a short time. I pray for healing for all as we navigate life in your absence. We miss and love you Connor! 💔Love, Ms. Morgan

Connor…to know you was to love you. It was an absolute pleasure being your principal since you were in preschool. Your smile lit up every room you were in; your kindness and sweet spirit brought joy to others; and you will forever be our greatest superhero. You are missed so much, and we will keep your memory alive. 

The Mohawk and SD163 community expresses our deepest condolences to the family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing your sweet boy with us the past five school years. We are truly blessed to have been part of Connor’s life and your lives. 

Connor was an amazing student who always had a smile on his face. He was always ready to help others, sing a song, or make a new friend. I will miss him and his presence in my classroom.
