Charles E. Warren, 78, passed away on March 24, 2021. He is survived by his daughter Adrienne Chevalier; his grandchildren Laurent B. Chevalier, Gui Jean-Paul Chevalier, Noble B. Chevalier; his cousin William Ward and his dearest friends Dorothy Clemons, Raymond Swordon, Clarence Avery. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Rachel Walker, his parents Charles and Emma Warren and his late wife Roberta F. Woolbright.
Born and raised in Chicago, he was a city person at heart, but loved to spend time in the country. He was a honor student during grade school and received a high school diploma majoring in Aircraft Power Plant Mechanics, who was awarded numerous certifications and diplomas including Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy United States Air Force. He served his country as a member of the United States Army, in active duty during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. He later served nine years in the United States Air Force Reserves, starting in 1983. He was a professional photographer, with over five decades of experience. He owned and operated Warren Photography for decades, shooting covers for the likes of Jet Magazine and Essence Magazine. He enjoyed his free time as well, and made yearly trips to Cancun, Mexico to escape the coldest winter months in Chicago. He retired as a General Lithographer from the Office of Supply and Service, US Civil Service Commission Division of Printing and Supply.
He was a hero to his daughter, family and friends. No matter the need, he made sure the people around him were supported, he always watched out for their best interests. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on April 8, 2021 at 11am at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 N Western Ave, Chicago IL. Entombment to be held at Rosehill Cemetery directly following. For more information please call 773-561-6874.
