Life is not easy.  We had many good years, really exceptional.  You called youself a "soft shell Baptist" and I know that you viewed Homecoming as a time of joy. To me you are a mensch, a genuinely good guy.  I miss you and the adventures we shared.

Dear Byron. I am so sorry that I just learned of your passing. I wondered when the Christmas cards were not answered. It was lovely to stay in touch with you as long as I did, and to have found you when I was doing the family genealogy.

Dear Byron, 

I was so sorry and shocked to hear of your passing. I think I am mostly disappointed knowing I can't come and visit you in Chicago. I have many happy memories of our lives together in Michigan, Chicago, Hammond, Indiana and Colorado Springs. I was looking forward to remembering the good memories with you. 

I am grateful that we are the parents of three great sons. I loved knowing your Mom and Dad, Daisy and Bob, and Gordi. What a great family!

One of my happiest memories is when I saw you in your waders fly fishing in Michigan and in Colorado. You really caught some nice trout. I remember how we got our little Coleman stove and lantern, sleeping bags and food, and camped out every night coming back to Colorado. It was fun, except fighting off the bees that one morning! There are so many things to remember. I will think of your often with much love.

Byron, I remember very well the rabbit hunting trips & how you said I 'could shoot a fly off a rabbit at  100 yards'. We'll I wasn't quite that good but it was great fun being with you & eating those rabbits! Have a good trip home!
