Barbara Ann Garon

Barbara Ann Garon (Wendt), age 77 was called home to Jesus on November 28, 2022, with her husband by her side.

Barb was born to Alvin and Loraine Wendt on January 29, 1945, at her home in Chicago, IL. She attended Foreman High School in Chicago. Barb married Donald September 24, 1966, and resided in Chicago all of her life.

Barbara has worked for Motorola where she met her husband, Donald. She also worked at

SoFro Fabrics and Luther North High School in the Resource Room. Barb had a strong love for sewing and crafting and loved to make items for family and friends.

Barbara had a deep love for the Lord and was a long-time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Chicago. Barb sang in the choir, volunteered with Altar Guild, was a member of the Ladies Aid Group which she served as President for many years. Barb was also a member of the church council and worship committee along with many other ways to share God’s love with others.

Proceeded in Death by her father Alvin, mother Loraine, and daughter Katherine (Todd) Miller. She is survived by her husband Donald, sons Michael (Jennifer) and Thomas (Maria). Also survived by her sisters; Janet Brundage, Shirley Mashare, Loraine (Craig) Poegel, and Louise Molter; grandchildren Rebecca (Karl), Nathaniel, Aaron Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Daniel, Marisol and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 4pm to 8pm and Monday December 5th from 10am to 11am. The service will be on Monday, December 5 at 11:00 with the committal at the cemetery to follow. at Montclaire-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL. Committal will be following the service. Rev. Christopher Browne of Our Saviour Lutheran Church will officiate.

A prayer service will occur Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A final viewing will occur Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A committal & interment service will occur Monday, December 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, IL 60164. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.
