Andre Ricardo Bowman

Andre Ricardo Bowman aka Ricky, 57, of Chicago Il, passed away on November 01,2021. Andre was born on July 8, 1964, to William Bowman Jr. and Sandra Eileen Adams in Chicago. After proudly graduating from De La Salle High School in 1982, he went on to study music on a scholarship at Northern Illinois University.

Andre landed a job at the Cook County Secretary of State office, where he met Sonia in 1991, a coworker of his mother Sandra, at the nearby State of Illinois Department of Public Aid Office. His mother knew he was smitten when Andre decided to visit her at work several times a day.

Andre and Sonia wed in 1996 and were blessed with their beloved daughter, Adrian Talia, in 2001.

Andre went on to work for the City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department for 24 years where he met a group of coworkers to add to his closely knit circle of lifelong friends.

Andre was predeceased by his loving mother, Sandra Adams, father, William Bowman, mother-in-law, Gladys Ocasio, and father-in-law, Antonio Ocasio.

Andre, a larger-than-life character could hold his own, whether it be talking about sports, motorcycles, vintage cars, or any topic that you may want to risk challenging his witty acumen on. All these memories of Andre and more, will always be cherished by his wife and best friend, Sonia Ocasio-Bowman, cherished daughter Adrian Bowman, Stepfather, Kevin Adams, Big brother, Michael Bowman (Janice) of Jacksonville, Florida, Little sis Krysta Adams, Aunt Lucretia Arna (Ken) and a host of other relatives and friends, which included cousins, in laws, and many nieces and nephews whom he lovingly called “little babies”.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 4th, at 10:00 am at St. Francis Borgia Deaf Center, 8025 West Addison, Chicago, Il 60634. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road Hillside, IL 60162. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Borgia Deaf Center.
