Barrera family,
I met him once about 27 years ago at birthday party and never forgot his dyed colored hair. Then found him on facebook last year and got to know him more. Will never forget him. He was blessed having you in his life.

May you rest in peace, Alvarito. It's so hard to believe you're gone.  You will be greatly missed by soooo many people.  I was amazed with how many people were at the wake as well as the church.  That goes to show you that you touched so many lives, so many hearts.  You are an INSPIRATION to everyone out there!!  You lived life to the fullest. Despite the many obstacles that you came across, you managed to fight them and live your life.  May your family find the strength to get through this tough time but find comfort in knowing that you touched so many lives.  You will forever be in our hearts.  We love you, primo!

I only got chance to know him at work at ARD, I knew he's very warm, radiates with wonderful energy around all of us. And for his brave battle he endured, it shows us that he's special in magical ways. My heartfelt condolence for your loss he will be remembered by many forever. Hugs

I am so sorry for your loss; but remember how wonderful man he was and is.  Everyone will remember him in our heart.  He has a very good heart toward everyone.  He will be missed; his help hands will be missed. Bless you all.

I am so saddened to hear that Alvaro has passed.  I spent only a short time with him and with his Mom, "Chata", but it was easy to see what a wonderful family this is.  My prayers are with you all.

Dear Barrera family,

I am sorry to hear of your loss of Alvardo.  He was a great guy and great fraternity brother for our fraternity (I was one of the founder for this fraternity). I was glad to get to know him and be friend with him thru out college years as well on facebook too.  I am going to miss him!!

May Jesus be with you and may the Holy Spirit, who is our comforter, comfort you during this time of sorrow.

Many thanks for sharing Alvaro with us as he was a great guy with great sense of humor who brightened up our time while we were at NTID.   Hugs to his awesome family who Alf was very proud of!
