Born April 2, 1924, in Cleveland she had lived in South Russell before moving to Chester Township 30 years ago.
Sally was a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chester Township, and while a member took training to become a part of the Stephen Ministries. She was also a former member of the Chesterland Garden Club.
Survivors are her daughter, Barbara (Joseph) Lanckiewicz; son, Richard Thompson; and brother, Salvatore (Gilda) Grimaldi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alva Thompson; parents, Giacomone and Angelina Grimaldi; and sister, Mary Cibella.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the funeral home. The Rev. Ken Welsh will officiate. Interment took place in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
