At the age of 98, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rosie Klco-Divish, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Maplewood Senior Living in Chardon. Born in Cleveland on December 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Trenchan.
Rosie graduated from Auburn High School in 1943. After graduation, she assumed various clerical and secretarial jobs and also worked as a telephone operator.
In 1946, she married her loving husband, George C. Klco. Together they owned and operated George's Shell Service Station in Perry, Ohio and were Amway distributors for decades. During their time in Perry, they were very involved in church and community activities. They retired and moved to Florida where they enjoyed many years together, celebrating 56 years of marriage until George passed away in 2002.
In 2004, Rosie was blessed to find love again with her second husband, Edward Divish. Upon Edward's passing in 2007, Rosie continued volunteering in Florida for her church and various organizations, including the Sun City Center Emergency Squad, and after 11 years of service, she retired at the age of 95. Although the Klco family rejoiced in July of this year at the return of their matriarch to Ohio, Rosie often reminisced fondly of her dear friends in Kings Point who had loved and supported her.
Rosie's lifelong devotion was to her family, her faith in God and community service. She raised 11 children with love and pride and instilled in them a unique closeness that is her legacy for future generations. Rosie touched the lives of many over the years, often accepting a mother or grandmother role to many of her childrens' friends and her younger acquaintances.
Survivors include sons, George, Ed, Ken (Janet), Chuck (Cindy), Larry (Tina),
Tom (Tammy), Dave (Judyann), Jerry (Mary), Jim (Sharron), Paul (Donna) Klco and daughter, Stephanie Klco-Brosius (Jurgen); 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Rosie is also survived by her sister, Millie Ryan, her stepchildren, Denise Swan, and David and Michelle Divish, as well as her sister-in-law, Lee Klco.
Rosie was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, her husbands George Klco and Ed Divish, daughters-in-law, Margaret Ann and Bonnie, grandson Eddie and great-granddaughters Masi and Mia Rose. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Henery and Cathy Meyer.
Rosie led a beautiful and resourceful life. She will be dearly missed by friends, family and all those who knew and loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online obituary and guest book at www.gattozziandson.com
