Roger L. Morris, 58, of Chardon, passed away May 2, 2010, at his residence. Born July 20, 1951, in West Branch, Mich., he had been a lifelong Chardon area resident. Roger was a regional director and counselor with AFS, and a member of the Geauga County Mental Health Board. He was an active parishioner of the Church of Saint Mary in Chardon. Roger enjoyed cake baking and design, traveling and spending time entertaining friends and family. Mr. Morris had been the owner/designer of Flowers by Roger in Chardon since 1980. Survivors are his brother, Don Jr.; nieces, Kelly Morris, Kristy Morris, and Heather Csokmay; nephew, Kane Morris; sister-in-law, Karen Michel; great-nephew, Zachary Baird; close friend, Matt Ryan; and many other friends Roger made while being involved in AFS and the community. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Morris; parents, Wilda and Don Morris; and aunt, Elaine Csokmay. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, and one hour prior to the Mass Friday at the church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Church of Saint Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. Private inurnment will be in Hambden Township Cemetery. Roger's family would like to offer a special thank you to Roger's dear friends, Mary Lou and Ed Grennen, Georgette Davis, and Dan Chapman for their special care and concern.
