Richard Patrick Joyce was born June 10th, 1940 in Pittsburg PA, and died on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Carington Park Nursing Home in Ashtabula. At the time he and his wife Carol (Rado) were living with his son Jerry and his family after 45 years in Burton, Ohio. Dick was involved at St. Helen’s, having participated in Parish Council, St. Vincent de Paul, Legion of Mary and Divine Mercy Cenacle. He made Renewal and helped in the kitchen at Retreats. He loved playing and watching golf. During his career in sales and sales management for National Semiconductor he traveled the country and played many great courses. Dick loved watching his children and grandchildren compete in athletics and perform in their extracurricular activities. Among his crowning achievements were his expert grilling skills. For those who knew him, his pork roast was legendary. Dick found great satisfaction in serving others and sharing in their joy. His love for his family was contagious. He is survived by his wife Carol (Rado) and sister’s-in-law Kay Rado and Joyce Rado, four children Patrick Joyce (Edith), Cassy Joyce Brent (Dustin Medure), Michael Joyce (Cindy), and Jerry Joyce (Melissa) and fourteen grandchildren, Ben, Nathan , Isabelle , Nick, and Camille Brent; John, Charlie, and Audrey Joyce; Michael, Jacob and Joseph Joyce; Andrew, Lucy and Danny Joyce and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Joseph Patrick Joyce (father), Rose Kelsey (mother), sister’s Patrica Smith and Judy Adams. Wife Carol’s brother’s Ron and Mike (Gloria) Rado. Visitation will take place at St. Helen’s Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd. Newbury, OH 44065 on Saturday February 27, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 followed by Mass at 11:00 am. Father Jay will officiate.
