Born August 4, 1929 in Cleveland, he was a resident of Chester Twp. for the past 56 years. Richard was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. While he had many jobs over the years, Richard was best known by many in the community through his job at Turney’s Hardware, where he was an essential and treasured employee for 29 years. He was a parishioner and choir member of the Church of Saint Anselm in Chester Twp. Richard was a former member of the West Geauga High School Band Boosters and a former Cub Master with the Chesterland Cub Scout Pack. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his children Susan A. (Tony) Fani, Pamela J. (Mike) Bruner, and Michelle M. (Mike) McMullen; grandchildren Heather R. (Joseph) Monaco, Matthew Fani, Joshua Fani, Ian McMullen, Faith McMullen, Noelle Bruner, Timothy Carr, Michael (Cierra) Carr, and Melissa Carr; great-grandchildren Joseph Michael Monaco, Jr., Micah Carr, Lauren Whitledge, Norah Carr, Aiden Carr, and Lyric Carr; brother Gordon S. Caravona; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby N. (nee Gillen) Carr; son Thomas H. Carr; parents Richard A. and Ruth Ester (nee Carter) Caravona; and sister-in-law Marion Caravona. Richard always wanted to keep things in life simple, and in light of COVID, there will not be a public viewing.
