Larry J. Pitorak, age 76, passed away January 26, 2023. Born March 29, 1946 in Chardon, he lived in Novelty before moving to Middlefield a few years ago. Larry graduated from Cardinal High school in Middlefield, and went on to graduate from Thiel College in Greenville, PA, where he was a running back on the football team. He later earned his Juris Doctor at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, and also became a certified public accountant. Larry most recently worked as a Financial Consultant and Lawyer for 12 years at Beacon CFO Plus, and previously for 27 years with Sherwin Williams. He was an active member of the Geauga West Rotary Club, St. Anselm’s Finance Committee, Geauga County Public Library Board of Trustees, and previously served in the National Guard. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his four beautiful grandchildren and his many beloved pets over the years. He lived a life of service to others – from family and friends to those in his community, especially through Rotary and Meals on Wheels. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, enjoyed cheering on and coaching his children’s sporting events over the years, and also loved the deep winter snow and the beauty of the leaves in the fall. Larry also exuded toughness, evidenced most recently in a valiant battle against cancer that had him cancer-free through his passing. Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years Loretta Pitorak (nee Kerr); children Bryan Pitorak (Emily), Kevin Pitorak (Maria), Heather Pitorak (Marcus), Douglas Breehl-Pitorak (Megan); grandchildren Grace and Lucas Pitorak, Luciana Menezes, and Emilia Pitorak; sister in law Sandy Pitorak (spouse of deceased brother, Rick Pitorak); nephew James Pitorak (James’ children Allison and Andrew); and sister in law Leslie Kerr (sister of Loretta). He will be missed by his aunt Elizabeth Pitorak, many cousins, fellow Rotarians, and so many who were more than friends! He is preceded in death by his parents John and Iria Pitorak; in-laws John and Ann Kerr; brother Richard “Rick” Pitorak; infant granddaughter Lillian Iria Pitorak; and many aunts and uncles.
