Mr. Hedges graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and Miami University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John loved family, fishing, golf, working in the garden, music, all sports, especially the Indians, and friends of many years. He was a loving, kind, gentle, friendly, loyal person who loved animals especially Sam, his Siamese cat. John was also a former member of the West Geauga Recreation Council.
He was an insurance adjuster for Aetna Casualty and Surety Company for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Lou; and son, Jeff. Parents, Jeff and Hilda Hedges, preceded him in death.
Private family services will take place at a later time.
