Geraldine Edna Heck

Geraldine Edna “Gerri” Heck, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was the beloved daughter to the late Harold and Edna Pekrul; sister to Eileen Rogers (Peter); aunt to Paul Rogers, Robert Rogers (Kelly), and Cindy McCain (Isaac); great aunt to Cassia, Maximus, Benny, Ruthie, Sammy, and Zoe.

Gerri became a teacher for the Newbury School System and taught 4th Grade for most of her career. In the midst of her teaching career, Gerri began working as an assistant to the Russell Township fiscal officer. When given the opportunity, she took over the position as fiscal officer. With her years of experience and dedication, she was resourceful and often consulted to better the community. She continued to serve Russell Township after retiring from her teaching career. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, spending time and sharing meals with her family, and was a devoted “mother” to her dogs and cats. She always wanted the best for her family and never stopped nurturing and teaching them as they grew up. She continued to touch many hearts during her stay at Holly Hill. Her generous and caring heart will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held at Chesterland Baptist Church located at 12670 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland 44026 on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10am until 12pm. Celebration of Life Service will begin promptly at 12pm at the Church. Gerri will be laid to rest at Riverview Memorial Park of Russell Township.
