David W. Schultz M.D.was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 28, 1928. He graduated from Lakewood High School where he played football, baseball, ran track and sang in a barbershop quartet. He went to Ohio Wesleyan University graduating in 3 years and continued on to Western Reserve Medical School. He completed his medical training at Cleveland Metro Hospital in cardiology. He was a medical officer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Was stationed in Jacksonville, FL, where he played on the Navy tennis team and sang in weddings, church, and local productions. He opened his medical practice in 1960 at Lutheran Hospital where he practiced most of his career. He was a dedicated physician who loved teaching and training new residents. He retired from his practice in 2005. David played tennis and golf throughout his life. He loved to travel visiting many places around the world. He was an avid sports fan, loved to watch college football and all Cleveland sports. During the 1980's he was a physician for the Cleveland Indians. He played the piano by ear, had a photographic memory and loved the outdoors. He suffered a devastating stroke in 2009 and passed away peacefully at the Normandy Care Center on September 17, 2017.
