Dave Smith, 48, a ten year resident of Mentor, passed away March 2, 2015, at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby. Mr. Smith was born October 28, 1966, in Cleveland. Dave was known as a "gearhead", and always enjoyed working on cars and watching auto racing. His wife and daughters were the loves of his life. He worked as a welder. Survivors are his wife, Kathy; daughters, Kayla and Krystal Smith; sister, Debbie Sporcic; and brothers, Steve and Bill Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Smith; and brother, Jim Smith. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Township.
