SCHMIDT CHARLENE SCHMIDT (nee Ault) died on August 9. She was 76. Charlene was born in Chicago, Illinois and later moved to Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University. She was a school librarian at Painesville City Schools for 22 years, and also worked at Chardon, Geauga West, and Chagrin Falls libraries. She was involved in numerous civic and community activities and loved outdoor hobbies, like sailing and traveling. She is survived by husband Ronald Schmidt, son David (Kathryn) Schmidt, daughter Kristin (Brett) Gover, and grandchildren Patrick and Christopher Schmidt, Lucas and Claire Gover. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14 from 1 to 4 pm at GATTOZZI AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 12524 CHILLICOTHE RD. (RT. 306, N. OF MAYFIELD RD.) CHETSTERLAND. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 15 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12419 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, at 11 am. Burial will be private at a later time.
