Carol Hult passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on June 6, 2023. Born September 9, 1940, Carol is survived by her husband, John P Hult of 60 years, daughters: Kris (George, “Pat”) Willis, Halli (Ron) Bidwell, Julie (David) Fairbanks, grandchildren: Scott Willis, Ryan (Sara) Willis, Alec Bidwell, Laura Bidwell, Dana Fairbanks, Derek Fairbanks, Dylan Fairbanks, great-granddaughter: Selah Willis, and their beloved Westie, Carlee. She was preceded in death by her parents Vera (nee Sawyer) and George Turner.
Carol played the piano, was a ballet and tap dancer, was an avid local sports team fan, and boater from an early age. Carol graduated from Euclid High School, and went on to earn her bachelor degree from Arcadia University, before returning home to Ohio where she married John, her high school sweetheart and settled in Pepper Pike. Carol taught physical education for several years and then operated a graphics arts business with John prior to taking over the management and operations of the family business, Auto Diesel Piston Ring Company. Carol sold the business and retired in 2015.
Carol shared the love of boating that her late father past to her, which earned her the title: “Captain Carol”. She enjoyed music, golfing, boating, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren at the “Lake House”. Carol loved cheering their daughters in teenage years while going to horse shows, cheering for her hometown sports teams, and continuing the cheering-on of grandchildren with each of their respective sports events. Carol and John enjoyed traveling throughout the years between hosting EHS class of ‘58 classmates and other friends for events and dinner dates, spending time at the Lake House, and more recently spending winters in Sarasota, Florida.
Carol was a true optimist - the glass is more than half full type of person. She will be missed by so many.
An interment and graveside service will be at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, OH at a later date. Please, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude or Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
