Shawn Edward Johns

Shawn Edward Johns, age 46, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Shawn graduated from Tyner High School where he participated on the wrestling team. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Shawn was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church where he served as a usher and was a member of the Men’s Bible Study and the Singles Sunday School Class. He served as a Deputy Clerk for 20 years with the Hamilton County Criminal Court Office.

Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Nell E. Johns, paternal grandparents, Howell Johns, Sr. and Bertie Glover Johns; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lestie Eaves; several aunts and uncles.

Survived by several aunts and uncles, Anna (Raymond) Bowman of Ooltewah, Betty Burrow of Hixson, Joy (Fred) Gaston of East Ridge, Franklin (Brenda) Johns of Apison, Anna E. Klein of Chattanooga, Judy E. Cocoris of California, Betty E. Smith of Chattanooga, Mary L. Eaves of Chattanooga and George (Vickie) Eaves of Chattanooga. Shawn was also survived by several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. David Lawson officiating. Active pallbearers will be the Men’s Bible Study Group at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Honorary PalIbearers will be the Ushers at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Interment will be in Tyner Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
