Ronald Ernest Purkey

Ronald Ernest Purkey, 62, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, October 25, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was a member of the Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison and was retired from TVA after 34 years of service. He was currently employed with Worley Parsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Brown and Willie Belle Carter Purkey. He is survived by his wife, Carrol Ann Coker Purkey; daughters, Charlotte Marie Kesley (Kenneth), Ooltewah and Angela Mae Newman (Kevin), Kennesaw; granddaughters, Brooke Elizabeth Kesley and Macy Ann Kesley, Ooltewah; grandson on the way Austin Ronald Newman, Kennesaw; twin brother, Roger Franklin Purkey and wife Delores, Morristown, TN; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening with Pastor Eric Stitts officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. on Friday, until the time of the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
