Robert "Bob" Foust Bierly

Bob was born on May 24, 1921 in Ambridge, PA., the son of Robert Bell and Pansy Foust Bierly. He graduated from McKinley Technology High School in Washington, DC. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was honorably discharged in February 1944. He subsequently completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland and went on to obtain an M.A. and an Ed.D. from George Washington University. Dr. Bierly worked over 20 years for Montgomery County Public Schools and retired in 1981. During his retirement, he enjoyed playing bridge and tennis.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cellie, two children, Patricia (Chuck) Lawson and John (Kristi), and four grandsons, Rick, Bryan, Brandon, and Benjamin.

Services will be held at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Hall officiating and eulogy by John Robert Bierly.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday and from 1:00 pm until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
