Mrs. Cannon was born and raised in Ooltewah. She was a graduate of Ooltewah High School and UTC and a lifelong member of Ooltewah United Methodist Church. Rebecca was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She was passionate about educating children on equestrian activities, a member of the Georgia Draft Horse Association, and volunteered for the Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Center of Cleveland, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Blanton.
Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Johnny Cannon; sons, Bradley James (Leslie) Cannon and Christopher John Cannon; grandson, Hamilton Douglas Cannon; sisters, Diana (Steve) Floyd of Plantersville, Texas and Lynn (Thomas) Johnson of Ooltewah; mother, Barbara Blanton; and special friend, Lawana Smith-Higgins, who was like a mother to her.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Ooltewah United Methodist Church, 6131 Relocation Way, Ooltewah, TN 37363, with Rev. Dwight Kilbourne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
